SAMPLE CALL BACK SCRIPT

Hello, my name is ___________. I’m a Bahá’í from_____________. We received your name recently when you called about the Bahá’í Faith.

How did you hear about us? (If she saw the video, ask which one.)

Do you have any specific questions or areas of interest that moved you to call? Would you like more information?

Our community, here in _______________, holds regular introductory meetings for people who are interested in learning more about the Bahá’í Faith. May I send you an invitation and directions to one of these gatherings?

Note: A person who is not interested in coming to a fireside may prefer to meet individually with someone until he feels more comfortable. Offer to meet in a public place until confidence is built and for the sake of safety.

If you would like, we can get together for coffee or tea at _______________to meet and discuss more.

Note: If the conversation is going well and friendly you may feel it appropriate to move into the following areas. It is important that you not seem intrusive but loving and nurturing.

Are you interested in racial unity?

Are you interested in the equality of women and men?

Are there other religious topics that interest you?

What is your religious background?

Note: Being a good listener is very important. Follow up is vital! Be sure to call seekers back or invite them to an event if you say you will. Be lovingly persistent or they may think you are not really interested in getting to know them. Talk with them, not at them! The Media Campaign, as well as all teaching efforts, is about connecting hearts.
